Olin is a technology innovator who is nationally recognized as Entrepreneur of the Year for Social Impact (HVCA), Small Business Advocate of the Year (SBA), and as one of the 25 people who will shape the next 25 years (Hawaii Business). He cofounded several companies, and has helped invent pioneering technologies in multiple fields, including website localization and crowdfunding. Olin’s technologies have been adopted by several Fortune 500 companies, as well as organizations like MIT and even TED. He spent half his life in the U.S. Navy, the Peace Corps, and several non-profit organizations.

TEDx was created in the spirit of TED’s mission, “ideas worth spreading.” It supports independent organizers who want to create a TED-like event in their own community. The TEDx Program is designed to help communities, organizations and individuals to spark conversation and connection through local TED-like experiences. TEDx events are planned and coordinated independently, under a free license granted by TED.
